Directors of Casa Monte Plata, Dominican Republic

A ministry of Kids Alive International

In August of 2013 our family arrived in Monte Plata, Dominican Republic and entered the role as directors of Casa Monte Plata, an orphanage with 20 children ages 6-18.

Casa Monte Plata began in 2004 with just 5 children.  Since then it has grown to 3 houses and has the capacity to house up to 36 children.  Our kids all come from difficult backgrounds including abuse, neglect, death of parents, and exploitation.  Our goal in rescuing these children is to offer them a new hope in this life through education, a godly family environment, and meeting their physical needs while pointing them to the Savior who offers to rescue them spiritually.

As directors, we work to encourage our house parents, lead our children, and develop projects within Casa Monte Plata.  We are in charge of accepting new children as well as transitioning our kids out of the ministry when they reach 18 years old.  A lot of our energy goes into caring for our house parents, because without them, CMP could not function.

We are learning every day more and more what it means to direct this ministry.  We realize we are not capable of doing it in our own strength and we know that we are carried on the prayers of dozens of supporters who partner with us to bring hope and life to the children of Casa Monte Plata.
